Expanding on our popular Wedding Montages, Editing Life also offers this service for an array of other events. Birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, memorials for loved ones... anything you can think of! In a nut shell, you provide us with digital images that you'd like to be a part of yoru montage. A service like dropbox.com is a great way to share your images. We'll then put together your montage, add music of your choice and then send you a digital version of your montage. DVD's are available for an extra cost. We can also digitize your photos for you at a rate of $0.50 per photo. 1.Email Matt for a free consultation: email@example.com. Indicate how many photos you have and how you'll be getting your them to us. Don't hesitate to ask any questions! Matt will walk you through the process.
2. Choose your photos wisely. It's the most essential task. Make it easier by sorting your favorite and highest quality shots. Leave out or avoid any out-of-focus, small (think wallet size) or grainy photos. Place your photos in the order that you would like them in and put them into a snug ziplock bag for moisture protection. If you are providing digital files, rename each file with the number (01, 02, 02... 97, 98, 99). You can send us a disk with the photos on them, or upload them to a site like Dropox to send us a link to download them. We highly recommend sending them digitally. Target locations and just about any place with a photo shop can turn your priceless photos into JPEGs on disk for about $25-30 per 100 pictures. Make sure to tell them to 'crop the images to fit'. They'll know what you mean. 300dpi is the minimum best resolution.
3. Decide the mood of your montage. Will it be somber? Romantic? Upbeat? A combo of different moods? Deciding this will help you choose your music. We can give suggestions, however choosing music is a very personal decision. All you have to do is give us the titles of the music and the artist's name. The number of photos you have will determine how many songs you will need. A good rule of thumb is one average lengthed song (4 minutes) for every 30 pictures. We can compress or extend the transitions to make them fit the song for any 'section' of any particular montage.
4. Send us your photos and we'll take care of the rest! Again, we recommend Dropbox (or another similar service like Google Drive) for sharing the photos, or you can send us a disk full of your images. Last resort should be sending the physical photos in the mail. If they get lost, they're not coming back. But you can certainly hand deliver them to our home studio in Bel Air, MD! Just remember, we charge a 50 cent fee for each photo we digitize for you.
